Gold Medal Winner 9/15/2016

Good Morning,

Time to wake up and smell the roses. Thursday has arrived and I have a full day on the menu. I will start the morning with a hot cup of Door County Frosted Cinnamon Buns Coffee. After some prayer I will head into work.

Hebrews 12:1-2New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let me introduce you to my friend Max. We call him John and that is a long story I guess. John is a pastor in Haiti and hosts mission teams in his home throughout the year. John walks just about everywhere he goes. The trip from his home is downhill at a steep grade and when he returns, well ???? The grade is reversed. John runs a school, assists an orphanage and has dreams to do more. The list of what He does with God and all that he does for the church of Jesus and the people of Haiti is too long for me to write.

He always greets you with a smile. He is always the last one to eat. He is a husband and a father. This is a busy man who walks and at times runs for God. The world just witnessed the Summer Olympics and many gifted athletes ran fast, jumped high, swam like fish and lifted a ton of weights. Some received medals for their achievements. In my mind John is a gold medal winner for God. He endures the race each day. He works unto the Lord with passion and long hours. He loves his neighbor. I will bet we all know a God Olympian. Shake their hand today let them know that you are cheering them on.  It might just be what keeps them going today.

God Bless,

Marty

  1. Love the scripture from Hebrews. Looks like your friend has earned himself the incorruptible crown to throw at Jesus' feet in glory! (1 Cor 9:24-25, Rev 4:10) Praying for Max...I mean John. 🙂
