What A Life Like Jesus' Should Look Like 1/1/15

Good Morning,

Happy New Year. I hope 2015 is good to all of us. My prayers today are for world peace. A peace where the whole world tries to live a life that is like the life of Jesus Christ.

My coffee this cold morning is Door County Red Velvet Mocha. I am on my way for a pheasant hunt with friends, my nephew Nick and the wonder dog Gibbs. Great way to start 2015.

I mentioned above that I would love for the whole world to try and live their lives like Jesus would? You might wonder what would that life look like. I found scripture that lays it out perfectly and lets us know what Jesus expects our lives to be like. Read this through. There is no way anyone can argue that lives like this wouldn't be the cure for a very sick world.

Philippians 2:1-8New International Version (NIV)

Imitating Christ’s Humility

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death
        even death on a cross!

I am asking that when we pray for the world, we would pray that the world would start by looking to Jesus as Savior and Author and Finisher of our faith. Now wouldn't that make for a wonderful world?

Dream big. Hope large. Pray much.

Marty
