When Satan Comes To Church 4/1/2019

Good Morning World!

Monday arrived and I started it with prayer and a cup of Door County Almond Toffee Coffee. So here's to a new week!

I am convinced that the minute the doors open on a church Satan comes in and tries to disrupt things. It can start with not having all the supplies needed for a church service. It could be that the electronic sound system decides not to work. It can accelerate when your sermon notes are misplaced.

1 Corinthians 14:26 English Standard Version (ESV)

Orderly Worship

26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Worse yet Satan often rears his ugly head through others. When things don't go just right I often receive emails the next day with complaints. Many "complainers" have a valid point or two now and then, but they are never part of the solution for change or help. They spew off at the mouth and show their self centered souls often without all the details. They make assumptions that the service should be all about them. I wonder how many people actually pray for the service, the speaker, the musicians or the electronics?

1 Peter 5:8 New International Version (NIV)
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

People who are long on advice without rolling up their sleeves to assist are people who bore me. I can only listen to them for a minute or two and then I am late for the door. Their beguiled attitudes show a lack of compassion, Christian maturity, and selfishness. They don't realize that they are tools Satan uses to sow discord within the church.

So before you complain, pray things through. Are you part of the problem? Can you be part of the solution? Or do you just like to whine and complain? Once you can answer those questions honestly you might have less to say. Are you building others up? Or are you just tearing down?

Food for thought.

Marty
