Sin Against The Holy Spirit? 8/10/2018

Good Morning,

My day began a little earlier today and is going to run into tomorrow morning. My Thermos bottle of Door County Ethiopian Coffee needs to hold me all day long.

I want to take some time to get serious and answer a question that many people need to hear the answer to. What is the sin against the Holy Spirit? that can't be forgiven?

Matthew 12:31-32 New International Version (NIV)
31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Since we know that a sinner can turn to God in their last breath and be forgiven and receive the free gift of redemption.,what is the problem?

Ephesians 2:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

What cannot be forgiven is turning down the Savior Jesus Christ and His love for us and the eternal heaven He paid for with His suffering, death, burial and resurrection. The Holy Spirit always points us to Jesus and when we deny the need of a Savior we grieve the Spirit. Once we die and have not received Jesus into our heart that sin results in hell and it is not forgiven. We are out of time, no second chances are afforded this sin.

This is an important question to ask yourself or others. Where do you stand with Jesus Christ? How many times has the Holy Spirit nudged you toward Jesus? Why do you resist? Why gamble with being too late?

Food For Thought,

Marty
