Obedience Is A Gift 6/15/2017

Good Morning,

Friday is upon us and mine came in like a wrecking ball. It seems that I just fell asleep when the alarm went off this morning. So I wandered to the kitchen and grabbed a mug of Door County Blueberry Cobbler Coffee and a banana. Time to write.

1 Samuel 15:22New International Version (NIV)
22 But Samuel replied:
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams

People search and search and work and work to experience the perfect worship experience on Sundays. When all they have to do is to truly change their attitude toward obedience. When we choose to disobey God in any way, our worship cannot be wholehearted or sincere.

For instance how many people do you know that will twist and manipulate Scripture to meet their need for the moment, knowing fully well that they are disobeying the intent of the command of God? How can we go to worship, looking for a spiritual high, when we have just disobeyed God's Word? When we are fully obedient to God we set our hearts on a path of true worship. God can only use us to the degree that we are obedient to Him. The more deeply we love Him, the more we will want to do what He asks and the more we will end up pleasing Him, which is true worship.

What do you say! Does your attitude toward obedience lessen your worship experience?

Love to all,

Marty
