Instructions For Fathers 6/17/2017

Good Morning,

I had a quick cup of Door County Highlander Grog Coffee and I am headed out of the door for an adventure. More on that tomorrow. Happy Fathers Day to all those Dads, Uncles, Step Dads, and Grandpas out there.

Deuteronomy 6:5 New International Version (NIV)
⁵ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

In order to be all that we need to be as the men in the lives of our families, we need to start with Deuteronomy 6:5. The key to being that man who God designed ,is to start with loving God above all else, who all else and above self. This love relationship with God is the number one step in being able to love our families correctly and nurturing them as God intended. To love God is to love others. To love God is to love His Word. It is easier to understand a book when you know and love the Author.

Men we have a tough job to be what God intended us to be. Our job description is impossible without God being at the center of our lives.

So this morning, before you are bombarded with breakfast in bed or kids jumping all over you, or the phone ringing, take time to refocus and make sure that God and you are where you need to be in your relationship. Then go ahead and start the grill for a big family dinner, because that is what we do!
