I stayed up a little too long watching election results for the United States presidential primaries. So my cup of Door County Autumn Spice Coffee is much needed and appreciated.
The title for the blog this morning might have you confused. In order for a "cure" to be a cure, it needs a disease to work on. I have witnessed crabby people who respond to strife with a barrage of insults, and terror. They think that because of strife in their life they have the right to take their diseased minds and turn their emotions loose on others. The problem with emotional responses to strife is that the outbursts and uncontrolled anger often go untreated when there is a simple cure. Others can do things to try and help but the owner of the issue needs to admit he or she has a disease of the heart. The disease is called "self centeredness". The cure for self centeredness is this. It's called the Golden Rule.
Luke 6:31New King James Version (NKJV)
31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
But in order for this cure to work a person must admit they are diseased and want to be cured of their self centeredness. A cure sitting on the shelf needs a disease to be active. A cure is no good until it is used.
