Friday and I need it like never before. This morning's coffee is Door County Pumpkin Spice. My week has been full of a little of everything.
Well, Christmas came and went too fast again. We shared gifts with people and received a few ourselves. I did receive a box of shot gun shells for next duck hunting season. I saw some folks very delighted and surprised with their gifts. But I did not see anyone speechless and just plain starry eyed with any of their gifts they received. Our family is practical and usually gives gifts meeting a need or something that will be used often. There was just no "wow factor" to our gifts. They were all much appreciated and will be used.
God is the same way. He knew we were sinners and needed a Savior. Our sins doomed us to eternity in hell, suffering in ways we cannot imagine. So God sent Jesus to save us through His death, burial, and resurrection.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Now there is a gift with "wow factor". But is Jesus a gift that we appreciate, use and share? Thinking about what Jesus did for us should leave us speechless, but just for a short time. Soon there after we should be shouting His name and sharing our gift with others. You see this Gift never stops giving nor does it go out of style.
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Enjoy your gift, brag about it, and share it.
God bless,
Marty
