Come Sit By the Fire 12/15/13

Good Morning.

I am starting this morning in prayer and a hot cup of Door County Chocolate Meltdown Coffee.

Last night I found myself sitting up late reading my Bible. Rene went to bed early because her shift at the Medical Center in the morning started at 4:30 AM. It was cold in Wisconsin last night with a fresh snowfall all around. It was so quiet except for the fireplace crackling into the night. A fresh cup of Sweet Dreams Tea was at my side.

It was a special time of quiet, refection and rest. We all need time like that. Time to just open God's Word and let Jesus speak. This night was another Christmas gift from God. For a few short hours  the world was on hold for me. Nothing else mattered at all.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

We all need times like these. It doesn't take a fireplace or tea. It could be a kitchen table or a park bench. But Friends take that time. It is worth every minute.

God bless,
Marty
