Thirsty, Thirsty, Thirsty 7/29/2018

Good Morning,

Sunday, is here and it is very nice and cool where we live. A cup of Door County Lingonberry Tart Coffee kicked off my day. Let's write.

I titled this blog about thirst today. The type of thirst that needs to be satisfied and only one thing will satisfy a real thirst and that thing is water. Water is key to life and without it a person becomes dehydrated and can become very ill and even die.

Psalm 42:1-2

42 As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. Where can I find him to come and stand before him?

That being said, each of us have been designed by God to be relational. We actually are healthiest when we interact with others. But as a battery powered car needs electricity eventually and only an electrical outlet will do for the recharge, so every human should have a relationship with God. For Christians we foster that relationship through prayer and time spent reading and living His Word. (Bible). The Word of God is our source of spiritual water and when combined with prayer is a "soul quencher" for sure.

Psalm 27:4 King James Version (KJV)

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple

There is a big but here! We need to desire it daily as if we might not have anymore for a long time. We need to crave that time, capture it and replenish each day as if there were no tomorrow. We have to reach for the source and supply a thirst for that relationship with God to grow and  be more intimate with each day.

This is all accomplished by feeding, and fostering a desire to have God be the center of our lives.

How thirsty are you for that relationship with God to be better? What are you going to do about it today?
