What a great day for a cup of Door County Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend Coffee and some grapes to go with it. This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
I was watching the last couple of innings of a Little League Baseball game a while ago and one thing I noticed while enjoying a very well played game was how one boy who was less talented than the other kids celebrated when he hit the ball for a double.
You could tell that he wasn't used to getting good hits in a game. But when he blasted that double and was standing on second base, he stood tall and proud. He waved to his parents and then got serious about playing again. But for one moment in time, he was honored by the applauding crowd and he stood on the base soaking in the cheers and applause.
When he eventually came home and scored a run, he went to the bench and shook hands with his team mates. He was the perfect example of a class act. He celebrated but he did not over celebrate and did not become obnoxious with his good fortune.
How about you? When you achieve something noteworthy and praise worthy do you celebrate with a humble attitude or are you the person who throws your own parade?
Humility in excellence says a lot about a person.
Proverbs 11:2
2 Proud men end in shame, but the meek become wise.
Food for thought.
