Hey, it's a little warmer here today and it feels pretty good. I am a quite sore from my day of hunting yesterday so the Door County Spiced Gingerbread Latte Coffee will be used to wash down some Ibuprofen.
My age showed yesterday as a group of my friends and I pheasant hunted for a little more than four hours. The terrain was not all that bad and our dogs all performed superbly, but I am sore. It was a great day of fun for all of us. I will admit that the dogs flushed more birds than we hit. But just a couple of misses were had. Now and then you walked into a thorn bush and that hurt a little. So we experienced a couple of things that weren't pleasant. But what I noticed and expected from this group was this. At no time was the Lord's name invoked in profanity. Not one profane word was spoken by these guys. I actually take this for granted because it is the norm for these guys. What stands out is when others join our group and they can't hunt without cussing.
To spend a nice day with a group of guys who police their language is refreshing and a nice experience. It seems that cussing and expressing profanity is becoming more and more accepted every year as part of the culture. The Bible has a few things to say about it.
As a matter of fact God has a lot to say about it. So that being the case, I am pretty sure we should pay attention.

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain

James 3:6-8
And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
