Leaving The Freezer Door Open. 1/20/2017

Good Morning,

Here comes Friday! I really need it in a bad way! My first cup of Door County Mocha Mint Coffee was good. I think the second one will taste even better.

Our dog Gibbs has been an entertainer for us since he was a puppy. I was working on a wall in the basement on a hot day when I decided to unplug a small refrigerator for cleaning. Gibbs crawled right in to stay cool. I knew right then and there that he was a clown, but also pretty smart.

Not far away from that little refrigerator is a large upright freezer. Somehow the door was left ajar a little bit and when I noticed it I discovered that some of the meat in the door had started to thaw out a little.  To be on the safe side I cooked it all up last night and refroze some of it. We also  have great lunches packed for us today!!!  We try not to waste anything.

We put that meat in the freezer for safe keeping. Just a little mistake almost ruined some great meat and would have cost us some dollars to replace. Just a little opening in the door of about one inch made a mess.

It's the same with our lives. When we allow a little nastiness in, it often causes bigger disastrous results. It only takes a little hot pepper to ruin a bowl of cereal. It is the same way with a nasty comment or answer. On little nasty remark can start a feud of epic proportions. When we open that door we never know what will crawl through.  It's best to curb the tongue.

Proverbs 21:23- Who so keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

Proverbs 15:1- A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 12:18 - There is that which speaks like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise [is] health.

Have a great weekend! Don't forget to close the door.

Marty
