Be Prepared. Think Ahead 1/3/2017

Good Morning,

I awoke to a cold damp morning so I am very happy that the Door County Maple Coffee was right on time and super hot.

We are being told by the weather forecasters that we are headed for the deep freeze in a couple of days. They have been pretty much spot on with their forecasts lately, so I am heeding their warning. When Rene and I heard the forecast we both looked at each other and knew that we would be prepared for the cold. I brought in extra firewood and Rene took out a large crock pot. Within a few hours we had a fresh pot of chicken soup cooked and ready to hold us over for the next few days. Chicken soup is comfort food for us and we enjoy eating it by the fireplace.

Now as much as some people including us will be prepared for the cold weather, many people do not spend anytime heeding warnings and lack being prepared. We live in a snowy area, so to be prepared we own snow shovels. It is common sense. We are always told to be prepared for foul weather by having a flashlight and where to hide from tornadoes. Warnings of common sense are given all the time, but we read time after time how people ignore warnings and then suffer the consequences.

2 Corinthians 5:10New International Version (NIV)
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad

God gives us plenty of warnings, yet people ignore the most important one. God has told us to be prepared to answer to Him. Yet we all live life as if that will never happen. But some day when we breathe our last breath we will find out that He wasn't kidding. Imagine standing in front of God giving an answer as to why you did what you did, or why you didn't do what you should have.

Ouch! There is always time to change and heed the warning, so we think. But do we actually know what day will be our last?

The time to heed the warning is now. It's hard to travel ad purchase a shovel during a blizzard that we knew was coming.

God bless,

Marty
