Slow Start To Hunting.10/11/2016

Good Morning,

Just did the rise and shine North Dakota Style. The larger coffee maker is bubbling and gurgling the Door County Country Morning Blend. Thirty nine degrees and windy. It should be a great day.

Yesterday was a poor day of hunting. We arrived to our destination, scouted some, ate lunch and then went out for a few hours for an evening hunt. We saw  a few ducks and our team bagged only one. We were all a little disappointed for sure but we ate a late dinner of chili and Italian sausages and went to bed with our plans for the morning all laid out. The dogs went into their kennels and it was snoring galore, both man and beast.

As duck hunters all know the hunt is never a sure thing. Many nuances can impact a hunt. For instance, weather plays an important part. The decoy spread and duck calling a huge impacts. Call at the wrong time and the ducks are gone. All kinds of things have the ability to make for a bad hunt.
But a good duck hunter has patience. He or she sticks it out until they get it right, which might only be once or twice in a season.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12 | NIV

We need to be patient in life also. Patient  with people, circumstances, and with God. Only a fool rushes in when they should have waited. People will wear on our nerves. Patience teaches us to tolerate. God's timing is not ours. Waiting makes us stronger. Goodness comes from patience. I wish I could obtain patience from a spoon in the cookie jar. But, patience is learned by trial and error. No short cuts to patience. Learn that from a duck hunter.

God bless,

Marty
