Still waiting for spring to warm up in Wisconsin. My coffee this morning is Door County Cherry Creme. Good to the last drop.
I noticed that many of the trees here are starting to bud and will blossom soon unless a killing frost comes. I look forward to the apple blossoms, cherry blossoms, lilacs and other things that grow in our yard. But it doesn't take much frost to spoil it all.
Life is the same way. We start each day anew and with good intentions. Then something causes us to lose sight and our behavior changes and it leads us into sin which can ruin a whole day. Much like the blossoms we can't get them back or get the same day again and start over. We must guard our days and not allow ourselves to be "ruined for the day". Sometimes days run into weeks and even years. What a waste! Here are some verses yo help us through.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, ...
