Capital Punishment and the Bible 4/27/2013

Good Morning,
Saturday and I am headed to work for a few hours. But I am not leaving until the coffee is ready. I am brewing some Door County Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee.

With the events that took place in Boston recently, the debate of whether or not capital punishment is legal or not will start again. I take only one stand, and that is our country was founded on Godly principles and we should not have strayed from them. The Bible does allow for capital punishment.

Leviticus 24:17-22 - And he that kills any man shall surely be put to death.

Exodus 21:16 - And he that steals a man, and sells him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

The Bible also allows forr us to protect our families and homes.

"If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him," we are told in Exodus 22:2. The next verse says, "If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft."

I believe in the principles found within God's word.

Have a great day.
Marty
