What's Your Marriage Grade? 4/13/2018

Good Morning,

Wake up and smell the coffee. My cup is filled with Door County Cherry Crème Coffee. It's Friday and it's time to write.

Today I am going to try and get any of us that are blessed to be married to see how our marriage holds up under God's scrutiny.  As you look at the Scripture statements give yourself and only yourself a grade of 5 being great, 4,3,2, 1 being poor.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

New International Version (NIV)

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Each person in a marriage owns the marriage. So each of the words listed above is found in today's Scripture verses. After reading them in context, grade yourself, not your spouse. There are 14 words. Add up the score of all the words and divide by 14. You will receive an average of the scores. If it averages out to five, you are the perfect spouse. But if it doesn't and you have been truthful it will reveal an area that you should work on to become the spouse you need to be. If you are comfortable in your marriage you and your spouse could do this together. Do not grade each other. You might not be married long.  Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be truthful!!!! Enjoy the exercise.
