Another Monday has arrived and by tonight it will be completed and recorded in the book of our lives. So I have decided to kick it off right with a cup of Door County Mocha Mint Coffee and some prayer.
From time to time we face life changes that we don't really have much control over. There are times when changes come about and we are bewildered as to what direction to take. These times call for a good farmer. We get set in the routines of our lives and we think we have the future all planned out. But then, along comes some change and it seems that we must navigate a new path or journey. Like a farmer does with his fields we need to cultivate the change and turn over the soil of our lives. We need to turn over our souls with fresh ideas, or changes. We need to seek God's life changing seeds through His word and look at how change might lead us to a new adventure with Him or how a good plowing of our hearts can help us to deal with change or deal with moving. We have to seek what fruit will be produced for us and through us with the call to change or move.
Cultivation also requires water and we should always look for renewed hope like a parched land looks for a soft rain. Our hope is in God to direct us and lead though change no matter what. Some change is hard to deal with, Like a farmer rests his soil from time to time it might be that we are to plow other fields or just rest for awhile and wait for the time to plant again. Two Bible verses come to mind on cultivating change. A farmer does not act on emotions. The farmer deals with the facts and makes decisions to plant, not to plant or to move to another field by knowing the facts. For those going through change and needing to know how to deal with it we need to rely on God and His Word to speak to us.
Luke 8:15 New King James Version (NKJV)
15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who,
having heard the word with a noble and good heart,
keep it and bear fruit with patience.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
Dealing with change? Wait on God for the answers. Be patient, He will direct your paths.
