Scripture Verse on the Moon 5/22/2014

Thursday Morning and it is one more day until Friday.

My coffee this morning is a big cup of Door County Red Velvet Mocha. It looks like it is going to be long one.

I was listening to a radio show yesterday and the radio evangelist was talking about the moon landing that the United States performed in 1969. One of the items that the astronauts left was a placard with Psalm 8 transcribed on it.

Psalm 8  (NKJV)

The Glory of the Lord in Creation

To the Chief Musician. On the instrument of Gath.[a] A Psalm of David.

O Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,[b]
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth

I was thinking that Psalm 8 was probably the best Scripture that could have been left on the moon. It was very appropriate and really honored God.

But then I thought " Hey the Word of God is On the Moon" That was followed by "that's nice but God was there too. Now that's a bigger deal."

Psalm 139:7-8

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;

As men we might even travel to Mars some day. But God was there first and will be there when we get to Mars. Now that's amazing!

God bless,
Marty
