Good Morning,
A hot cup of Door County Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend Coffee is sending some awesome aroma to my nostrils today.
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7. casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
When I think about my life and the fact that God has His hand watching over me and all of the other believers, I cannot help but to feel protected, loved and headed in the right direction,
As long as I!!!!! Humble myself to God's leadership, protection, and direction. I find that there is no room for two captains on a ship and God cannot be our second call after we have held the wheel of our lives. He won't take the blame. By the time we finally give in it is usually after we have left a lot of debris in the wake of the ship of our life. He might wait on the rescue we need just to teach us a lesson as we struggle with the mess we have made.
Today's lesson is this. It is an easy one. Did you create the world? Can you direct the tides? Does the sun rise on your command? So, if you answered no to all three, the point is this. You aren't God and you never will be. For a long time the only god you followed is the one you think you are. Friends, that makes for a very insecure, not loved, and tiring life. Way too often we become the idol in our own life.
Food for thought!
Marty
