Good Morning,
I am enjoying a hot cup of Door County Breakfast Blend Coffee and I for one can't wait until for a cold fall day to grace my coffee time. It is time to write.
Psalm 141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of m lips.
The title of my blog this morning pretty much says it all. Many opportunities will come along during your life and mine when the title of today's blog will run through our minds. I have run into a few situations in my life when I have questioned the intelligence level of some people who no matter what, when, or where, they just cannot control their mouth, and the timing of it.
There are just some times that aren't the best for sharing your mind, or some random actions. For instance funerals are at times riddled with comments that didn't need to be said at all, especially, with the timing being a bit off. "What will you do with your share of the inheritance? Any plans to travel?" "Call me I would love to help you invest."
At certain times the best approach is to just take a big drink of shut up juice and smile. Here's one! While you are a witness to an automobile accident with major injuries, as a parent waits to see if their child can be removed from a mangled vehicle. Some idiot might say. " When was the last time her brakes were checked"?
So before we open our mouths, it might just be wise for us to say to ourselves in question format. Right time? Right place?
Some people will never find their cure for ignorance. But let's police ourselves to make sure our comments, or actions, are at the right time and in the right place. Timing and location are paramount in not offending someone or making a horses rump out of yourself.
Food for thought!
Marty
