Good Morning,
It all started this morning with a hot cup of Door County Inn Keepers Blend Coffee and prayer. It is time to write!
James 4:13-15 ESV Come now you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit" 14. Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15. Instead you ought to say, "if the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.
No matter how long you live the statement of "Life Is Short" applies to everyone. Yet, many folks today will say, I can't wait for next Friday to come, or I wish it was December. Hopefully you are following my thoughts here. We wake up and wish our life away. We are looking forward and would be willing to skip several days of our lives just to get to one day of 24 hours.
Sometimes we place so much effort into a future date and looking ahead, that we really don't enjoy or take advantage of the day we are in right now. We look over the top of our coffee cups and miss the great flavor of this day. Today is part of your legacy, don't dream it away or wish to skip it.
Concentrate on today. Learn what you can learn today. Mow the grass and get it done. Work if you must work and save for the future. Love someone today. Smile today. Take this day and be a blessing to others.
Take one day at a time, because the future isn't really guaranteed. Don't spend a lot of time wishing it was a future date. You really can't advance time but you certainly can miss out on today.
Food for thought.
Marty
