Deceiving Ice 2/5/2019

Good Morning,

I started a little earlier today than normal, so my cup of Door County Chocolate Cherry Coffee will have to work a little harder to get me going.

My wife , Rene is starting earlier at the hospital, and I wanted to see her off with a hot breakfast. Our weather has been warm enough to melt a lot of our snow. But with that nice gesture of nature comes that fact that when the temperature dropped all that melted snow, turned into ice.

I saw first hand that surprise when our dog Gibbs went outside this morning. He tends to run o to do anything. And when he flew out of the door, all four of his legs were going in different directions. The sidewalk was a sheet of transparent ice. What looked very good was not at all good in any way, shape or form. The view I had from the doorway was very deceiving.

It's the same way with life. Each day we are presented with what seems good and even wholesome, but it is deceiving and is really not a good choice.

For instance, a short stop after work and a few glasses of wine are consumed withe friends. The wine might even be spaced out so it is a glass or three over a couple of hours, You decide it's time to head home, low and behold your tire goes flat, or a brake light is out. The local law enforcement pulls you over or they come to aid you with your tire. Then they ask "have you been drinking"? You tell the truth and say it was a just couple glasses of wine or beer, but you can't pass a breathalizer test. Jail and a fine are you newest adventure.

The wrong choice you made was to drive. Someone should have given you a ride home. Now you have a problem. What seemed innocent and should have been, showed up like glare ice on a dry road.

Friends, God does watch over us, but understand Satan just waits to get a chance to mess you over. The scene I drew for you could have been worse, what if while mildly intoxicated you hit another car, fatalities?? One moment of passion, could lead to an abortion.

Beware of the evil one, follow the laws and avoid making decisions that you know are wrong. Follow Biblical principles when making choices.  You can also be deceived with other things that are legal in the eye of the law, but morally wrong and condemned by God.

1 Peter 5:8 King James Version (KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
2 Corinthians 11:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

God bless. Be careful out there.

Marty
