Fertilizer for the Soul 9/30/13

Good Morning,

Today is Monday. What will the week bring? But here's a chance to start the day by spending some time in the Word of God and prayer. My day is also starting with a hot cup of Door County Cherry Crème Coffee.

Yesterday I spent some time aerating our lawn and applying the winter fertilizer. Summer has passed and fall is here. Soon we will be blanketed with snow and ice. But I prepared the lawn for next spring and as it goes dormant it will be fed and come alive in the spring.

The Holy Spirit was sent to Comfort and feed us spiritually. And if we apply Him to our lives we can grow and nurture others. We can be islands of encouragement and hope for others in through Jesus in us.
Isaiah 55:10-13
10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn bush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”

Are you being constantly fed by the Holy Spirit through God's Word?
Are you risking going dormant and allowing the weeds of sin to creep in?

Only you can answer the questions.

Have a great day.
Marty
