Doubt the Dream Killer 9/23/13

Good Morning,

Monday already? How does it get here so quick? This morning my coffee is Door County Coconut Crush. I heated it a little longer in the microwave just because of the chill in the air today.

Doubt. Only five letters in this word but it could be one of the most powerful weapons that Satan uses to discourage us when first attempting to put out the fire and passion within a Christian's heart for their church, calling, and Godly lives. He is so slick that he will often use others in Christian authority to plant doubt within by using concern and good intentions to stop us.

God is very clear on doubting and what happens.

Proverbs 3:5-8
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

James 1:6

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Matthew 21:21

And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

Matthew 14:31

Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Jesus clearly tells us not to doubt in Him. James writes that when we doubt we have very little chance of succeeding and we will quit.

But there is hope and hope is sometimes all we need to keep the flame going.

Philippians 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Tomorrow we not only study fear but we will learn to conquer it.

God bless,
Marty
