My coffee pot is already set for tomorrow.
This past Saturday our church sponsored a prayer night from 8:00 PM until 4:00 AM. We try to do this every other month. Attendance has started to pick up and we had over twenty people for the long haul. It did end at 1:30 PM I have seen it go past 4:00 AM
You might ask why we do this.
And it was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. ( Luke 6:12)
Jesus often slipped away in prayer for himself and others. He wanted to spend time with the God. He needed to be in tune with the Father.
At church some of us looked over the prayer requests sent in by others.
Cancer topped the list. Our prayer list was a page and a half. We prayed in unity for all the requests.
Then Sunday I read the local paper. Another shooting, another politician was accused of a crime, another drunken driver crash. Need I say more. Folks, as a nation we face fiscal cliffs, health care reforms, job losses, and danger. Can you bend down get on your knees and pray? Jesus did.
