Titanic Or The Moon 6/29/2025

 Good Morning,

The Door County Irish Crème Coffee is hot and tasty on this fine morning. After I am done writing I need to focus on getting out the patio furniture for my wife. Ha, no lazy day for me.

A few times in my life I have been asked this question. If you could choose a trip and the two offers were to visit the Titanic  at the bottom of the sea or fly to the moon and walk on it. What would I choose?

That is not a simple question and when I was sked the mind bender I chose to visit the Titanic. The next probing question they asked was "why did you choose the Titanic trip"? My answer to that is from a simple mind. "I have seen the moon many, many times. But I can't see the Titanic. So I guess I would take the submarine ride to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean.

Both choices would be spectacular and they both contain an element of danger. I believe that I could do both and although my location from Earth would drastically change for either trip, I would still be traveling with God. He would be with me in the dark waters. He would be with me on the moon as well as on Earth.

From time to time when I need to be reassured of God's awesome power and presence I read Psalm 139. I am reminded that He is always with me.

Psalm 139:7-12 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

8. If I go to the heavens you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I would settle on the far side of the sea,

10.Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11. If I say "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me"

12. Even the darkness will not be dark to you. The night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

I read that passage and it comforts a wounded or frightened soul.

Then I  turn to Romans 8:31-39

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these. If God is for us, who can be against us.

32. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else?

33. Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one----for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

34. Who will then condemn us? No one---- for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand pleading for us.

35. Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute or in danger, or threatened with death?

36. (As the Scriptures say, "for your sake we are killed every day, we are being slaughtered like sheep.")

37. No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us.

38. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love.

39. No power in the sky above or in the earth below----indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

My message was quite lengthy today, but it is a message I use for myself when I have doubts and fears. Bookmark it and save it for one of those days when God seems as far away as the moon or the Titanic. Remember, He is right next to you! And Nothing can separate us from His love.

Have a great day!
