Good Morning,
I am very late in writing today and so my cup of Door County Peanut Butter Cup coffee also arrived late to the day. I had some important computer work to do and I used my morning to get it finished. Yesterday we had some thunder storms roaming our are of the world creating some havoc here and there. Our home was part of the havoc. A straight wind came through and tore off some of our siding on our garage. The house will need to be resided and maybe a new roof. No injuries or real major damage occurred. I was outside when it happened with our dogs. I watched the whole thing happen. It only lasted about 45 seconds or so. The only danger was entering the garage with the siding hanging down and flapping around. The dogs wanted inside the house and their path way was too dangerous. That wind had them really confused.
Habakkuk 3:17-18 NKJV Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines ;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold ,
And there will be no herd in the stalls.
18. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Once the house was made safe and my wife Rene and I were picking up some flower pots that had been blown around we finally said those words we all dread but at the same time need to be said. "It could have been worse." We counted our blessings. No one was injured. The house can be fixed. We have insurance coverage. And anything else was just not that important. We prayed together thanking God for His intervention yesterday. Our oldest dog almost got clipped by the sharp siding. But almost is all it was. We had a lot to be grateful for.
God bless, Marty
