A Common Or Uncommon Life? 6/12/2025

 Good Morning,

I really am enjoying this hot cup of Door Count Brandy Alexander Coffee sitting in front of me and I am ready to write.

Matthew 5;8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

From world's eyes if they could watch and see me every day, most people would say he lives a common life. He never found a cure for cancer, or raised the Titanic. And I would agree with them in assessing my life as pretty much "common". But!

I know of a man who had been addicted to drugs and alcohol  most of his adult years and after attending an event hosted by an evangelist he walked away from his addictions and has been free from them for 20 years. You see we measure commonality the wrong way. We measure successes and failures and then decide that we live a common life, where in reality we are not commoners at all in the eyes of God.

Someone who has faith enough to withstand trials and rejoice in the Lord daily is not a commoner, but a child of God. If you are living a life that others can see Jesus in you, you are living a victorious, and uncommon life. When I close my eyes and fold my hands to pray, there is nothing mundane about conversing with God. It is a walk on holy ground and only possible by a life that was resurrected from failure, shame, anger and a host of other things. There is nothing common about that.

Live an uncommon life by following God and placing your faith in Him and then look at your world through His eyes.

Marty
