Something To Be Said About A Fireplace 12/16/2025

 Good Morning,

I am running extremely late in writing my blog today. I also just poured a cup of Door County Naughty Or Nice Grog and for me it is almost too late for that first cup of coffee.

In our home, we have a fireplace centrally located on the first floor. It has a system inside of it that circulates the heat with the flip of a switch. It is a very nice feature and helps keep down the heating expenses. Last night it really came in handy because of an issue with our main furnace. The issue hopefully will be resolved today.

So every two hours last night I needed to add some wood to the fire. Our home stayed pretty warm just from the use of the fireplace and the heating feature.

I found myself thinking about the fireplace as I was trying to fall asleep last night. In just a few minutes after lighting the wood in the hearth we usually have a small but an adequate fire. Many nights have come and gone and many fires have accompanied me while I read my Bible and pray.

I have yet since 1994  to buy firewood. I always have enough wood from helping others cut down a tree or two. Our city allows us to haul away wood for burning from fallen trees taken to the town dump.

My point for today is this. Blessings come in many shapes and sizes. I often say to myself that when I go to meet with the Lord, He provides the fire, a cushy chair or solid desk chair to add to our time together. God has always provided the wood for our meetings.  I see  something in God. He never arrives to a get together empty handed.

Matthew 6:7-9 NKJV And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathens do. For they think they will be heard for their many words. 8 Therefore do not be like them. For the Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9. In this manner therefore pray. Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name.

I have to go for now. God bless.

Marty
