Good Morning,
I am truly embracing a hot cup of Door County Jingle Bell Java Coffee this fine Wednesday morning. It is time to write.
Proverbs 31:25-26 NIV She is clothed with strength and dignity she can laugh at the days to come. 26. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Forty seven years ago today It was a cold and snowy morning. I was hunting with my Dad and looking forward to watching a football game later in the day. We were told the day before that our child was going to arrive later than expected. But that morning our daughter arrived a little earlier than expected. Kristy was born in a hurry and anyone who knows her can say that she still is in a rush to make a mark on her day, every day. My Christmas present that year and every year after that was a healthy little girl who has grown into a beautiful lady. ( But still in a rush).
Kristy is one of those folks who are problem solvers. I believe that somehow as I mention a problem or have an idea, she has a solution for it before I even finish. Then hang on!
Today I want to salute my kid. She is rough and tough as she tackles life like a zesty linebacker. Yet within minutes can be the bell of the ball. It had to be tough growing up with me as her dad. It has to be tough right now as her dad is a stubborn old man. But one thing for sure is this. If I have to take on any battle I want her in my corner. (She was a cute cheerleader) If I need encouragement she hands it out unselfishly. My prayer today is that my Little Energizer Bunny can slow down and rest a little and spend some time on herself.
God bless,
Dad
