Good Morning,
I awoke early today and have to be on the road very soon. I poured myself a very hot cup of Door County Jingle Bell Java Coffee and it is time to write.
Luke 2:8-10 NIV And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people."
Jesus came to this world with very humble surroundings. He was born in a manger without a real roof over his head. His mother was a simple girl and his earthly father was a carpenter. But on that night, that Holy night, God chose to announce the birth of His Son, the Savior of the World by using an angel. Not a mere man or prophet He sealed the announcement with an angel.
Tomorrow will be Christmas day and many people will gather at the church of their choice. They will obtain a "Christmas fuzzy". But, will they go out and announce the birth of their Savior? Will they tell about all that Jesus has done for them? Will they spread the joy for all the people? Or will they just pass another roll at the table and hand over the butter.?
Food for thought.
Merry Christmas,
Marty
