Good Morning,
I just poured a hot cup of Door County Mistletoe Mocha Coffee and I believe it is time to write.
I have actually started cutting back looking at social media and have not really missed the spewing of hatred and attacks on ideals and life choices. I do believe that at this time in the world, social media is a brewing pot for a lot of anger and misinformation.
I have instituted a short walk in my day to spend in prayer for whatever God leads me to pray for. My time needs to be more productive.
Two weeks ago I tested the waters of being interviewed during a radio talk show. The host and I were on totally opposite ends of the spectrum regarding our personal views. But after we finished we chatted offline and thanked each other for conducting ourselves in a professional and respectful manner. Our sharing of views did not change either of our opinions, but what we shared was not mixed with anger and hatred. I asked her if she felt that we both listened to each other and she agreed that we did. We also agreed to chat again soon.
So my point of the day is this. Yes, it can be done. People can disagree and walk away without vomiting anger and lack of respect for others. It is a clear path of a wise Bible passage. It's called the Golden Rule
Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Food for thought.
