Your Total Worth 1/15/2026

 Good Morning,

The day began with prayer and a hot cup of Door County White Christmas Coffee. It is time to write.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

January, being the first month of  the year triggers a few things for me to do. I will be finishing up gathering financial statements so I can file my tax reports and plan our home budget for the year. We do a pretty good job of keeping up with the statements and  planning for the year. So it's not really too much work. I have to assess and discuss expenditures, daily and capital. Last year was tough as we had one huge unplanned expenditure for damage to our home which was not covered by insurance. This year already has put a claim on some of the dollars planned out for our home upkeep. (Capital expenses). You can't plan for every surprise calamity that comes your way.

My point is this. We are blessed to be able to even have a budget. But when I read about some people who are worth millions and billions of dollars, I could feel somewhat insignificant. But then I am reminded that my God considered me significant enough to send his Son to die for my unrighteousness. Jesus paid a huge price to keep me from seeing the gates of hell.

My significance does not come from a bank account nor the cars we drive. It comes from knowing that we are children of the King Almighty. My goal for today is this. You are not insignificant. You are loved enough to have a King leave His throne, and come to earth to die for you and your sins.

Food for thought!

Marty
