On This Date In 1698 9/5/2025

 Good Morning,

I am enjoying a hot cup of Door County Brandy Alexander Coffee as I begin to write. It is warming me up from the inside out.

I have had a beard for so long that I can't recall exactly when I started sporting mine full time. I was looking up information on beards just for no reason at all.

I did find out in my journey to find useless knowledge that on September 5th 1698 Russian Tsar Peter the Great imposed a beard tax. I do believe that if I had to pay to keep my beard I probably would sharpen the straight razor and shave. A small tax could get me to change.

My point for the day is this. Trends come, and trends go. I am sure many of you recall bell bottom pants and women who slept in curlers every night.

One thing that isn't a trend, doesn't change, and will never be applied to a toll you have to pay is!

God and His love for us. God is the same always.

Malachi 3:6 NKJV "For I am Lord. I do not change; Therefore you, O Children of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 NKJV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,, today and forever.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39. nor height or depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Have a great day!

Marty
