Don't Help To Pull The Bottle Down 9/7/2025

 Good Morning,

My cup is filled with hot Door County Cherry Crème Coffee and it is time to write.

I am sure we all know of someone who has a drinking problem. We probably also know someone who has defeated that habit and is living a life of sobriety. I congratulate all who have beaten this addiction. There are many causes as to why a drinking addiction started in the first place. But it doesn't take too much for it to start all over again.

Matthew 6;13 NKJV But do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

The conqueror doesn't need any help pulling the bottle off of the shelf again. If you are a friend, family member or acquaintance of a former alcoholic, be respectful of their battle. I understand that the world won't clear the pathway of  all alcohol from being available to an alcoholic. And it  shouldn't.

Suggesting that one drink "won't hurt" is like playing with a hair trigger on a gun. If we love our friends or family we always should have a non alcohol alternative available. Never ever should we be the one to help them pull that bottle off of the shelf, with peer pressure, good, but ill intentions, or testing them.

So that is my thought for the day. Be respectful of others weaknesses and don't be a hindrance to their success.

God bless,

Marty

  1. Thank you Marty for this attempt to enlighten brothers who have not had to struggle with this addiction. Whether it be the bottle or any of the other things we battle with please brethren help us to remain clean

    1. It's not a subject we like to talk about, but at times it is necessary.
