"Just Needs A Little Bit Of Work" 5/31/2025

 Good Morning,

I have a hot cup of Door County S'mores Coffee babysitting my morning and working it's way to being a second cup of the brew.

My wife Rene likes to shop for antiques. She really enjoys touring the emporiums of aged items, shopping for something we can use or display. In a few instances when I thought there wasn't any hope for reviving her purchase into something useful again, I make the mistake of complaining. Rene, forever being the "Great Encourager" says and I repeat it. "It just needs a little bit of work."

I have to tell you that some of the items I restored took hours, days and months to get them presentable. A little bit of work in her eyes and mine is not the same.

I worked on a desk and a dining room table for days, weeks and months. Quite a different view from my eyes to hers.

God looks at us the same way Rene looks at restoration projects. ("Just a little bit of work") He doesn't see the work of restoring or maturing us as a big project. To be honest, He never really stops. We are a work in progress and He keeps at it. There is no whining about how tough we are to bring us around to being usable. Even when we think He is done, He continues to polish our lives with directions from His word. He adds coats of maturity, and leadership upon us like a restored table needs several coats of lacquer and dusting for a life time.

Philippians 1:6 NLT And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ returns.

Have a great day. God isn't finished with you yet.

Marty
