Good Morning,
Today I find myself drinking a hot cup of Door County Raspberry Almond Coffee and chasing some arthritis away. Time to write!
Ephesians 5:15-17 Look carefully then how you walk not as unwise but as wise. 16. making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
My wife Rene, has started planting the annual flowers around our home and for some reason or another the process is going slowly. By now, we are usually 90% complete and we are not even close to that. Yesterday, I looked back on my calendar and can see why the yard is not in full bloom. I have been busier than normal doing other things that seem to take my attention away from helping my wife in adding color to the yard.
I don't see things slowing down very soon either. So it will be " Flowers On The Run" this year. Even the wild flowers that come up every year are not showing up yet. I am puzzled by that one.
My point for the day is this. Sometimes you can't control your schedule and your schedule controls you. So do your best to arrange things in a way, to reduce tasks, or trim them completely. Take charge of your schedule and make sense of what you have to do, what you want to do, or don't need to do, and make sure to take time to love God, love on your family, and rest.
You will find yourself saying "I can't trim anything". Don't let busyness become an idol in your life. If you were to get sick and not be able to burn the candle at both ends, a few less flowers wouldn't really matter. So take some time to slow down and trim that calendar, before it trims you.
God bless,
Marty
