Who's Driving Your Bus? 2/7/2025

 Good Morning,

A hot cup Hazelnut Crème Coffee is entertaining my taste buds this morning and it is time to write.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding; 6. In all your ways acknowledge Him. And He shall direct your paths.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"

When it comes to making choices in our lives we, have to first make the choice as to who is driving our bus.  We are often faced with decisions that could have consequences if the wrong direction is chosen.

We often take charge of directing the changes via using emotions and feelings. I try not to make quick decisions using emotions or feelings as  the drivers of my decisions. Feelings can trick us into doing things that we shouldn't trust. For instance in my many years of working, there were times when I just did not feel like going to work. No work, no pay is not a recipe for success. Too many absences could lead to unemployment. The decision to spend instead of saving often leads to worry and woe.

It would be a lot easier if we weren't driving our own bus. Most of us wouldn't tackle driving a bus full of children to school because of our lack of skills or training. But we will take control of a decision without prayer and seeking God's wisdom. True wisdom concedes without any reservations to God who knows what is best for us.

Never would we force the driver of a bus load of people to give up the wheel while the bus is moving. Yet we give God limits on His authority and time behind the wheel of our life's bus. If  the process or decision is not going as quickly as we would like, we often will take control again and return to driving the bus of our life. If the decision is not what we want to hear, we switch drivers.

Then we often want to consult with a friend. But we tend to have friends who always agree with us and support our radical minds. A good advisor or friend will tell you what you need to hear, not always what you want to hear. God will never tell you anything to harm you.

Your Bible should be your GPS to the trip you are on and not your memory. Frequent checks on the directions should be made. (Bible Reading) God does speak through His word.

So who is driving your bus? God or you?

Marty
