The Game Of Golf. A Hole In One? 2/24/2025

 Good Morning,

I have a hot cup of Door County German Chocolate Cake Coffee in front of me and it is the kickoff to a long day.

Many, many years ago I purchased some golf clubs thinking that I might like to try golfing. I swing left handed so I ended up having a set of clubs made just for me. My wife Rene suggested that I take a lesson or two so I could get the fundamentals down. I balked at that idea. I found a driving range and played some miniature golf to help me with me short game. So after a few hours on the driving range and swatting mosquitoes at the local mini golf course I was ready to golf. My wife took me to a course that she said would be good for a novice. Novice!!!!! The course was tight and several of the holes ran parallel to each other. On the second or third hole I gave that ball a whack that would make any duck hunter proud and I shot a hole in one!!! My wife the robber of all glory corrected me in my thinking. It seems that my outstanding shot landed in the wrong hole. So it did not count. Rene took lessons and always beats me when we play together. 

I kept golfing now and then and I got a little better at it. But most of the time while out on the courses, I was studying the ducks and geese calculating how I would tie into them if I was hunting. I have pretty much decided that this spring I will put my clubs up for sale, hang up my shoes, and concede that golf just isn't for me. I made my decision based on the fun I had golfing. NONE

So I decided that it is best for a man to pursue hobbies that either benefit others or bring him peace, joy and happiness.

1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 

My point for the day is this. Hobbies were made for men and women. Not all men and women were made for all hobbies. We are all different and we do not fit all the molds that society creates for us. It is best to let God show you how He wired you. Then do those things in such fashion that you glorify God in all things.
