I Needed That 2/26/2025

 Good Morning,

I just sat down with a hot mug of Door County Sunrise Roast Coffee and it is doing wonders for this guy.

Last night I was able to attend the Men's Bible Study at our church. Due to other needs I haven't been able to attend. The Bible lesson was on fellowship with God. It felt good to be there and as we were discussing different things I could not help but think about a few guys who attended over the years and moved on to different parts of the country and one who passed on and went to have true fellowship with God in heaven.

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word Of God is living and active, sharper than a two edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

His name was Bob. I recall him saying that the Men's Study was a true highlight of his week. He enjoyed the meat of the Word of God and the time spent with the guys. On the night of our Bible study Bob would greet every fella with a huge smile. You could count on that every Tuesday night.

Bob's life was ended by stomach cancer. But as long as He could attend Bob was there with a smile on his face. Studying God's word and having a time of fellowship meant the world to Bob. His last Bible study was at home just before he went to the hospice center.

My point for the day is this. Is your desire to study the Bible strong enough to make you want to sacrifice some comfort to be there? I know that I missed being there for the last few weeks. It felt great to be there with my Brothers in the Lord.

By the way. When I went to see Bob while he was in the hospice center, guess what? I was greeted with a big smile and I was asked to just read to him from the Bible.
