Good Morning,
I am awake and ready to write this morning. I have a hot mug of Door County Turtles In A Cup Coffee in front of me and all is well.
Proverbs 31:26-27 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Today would have been my mother's birthday. She went home to be with the Lord several years ago and today causes me to reflect on a few things she taught me. Yesterday as I was training my dog with some others, I recalled something my mother said now and then. "Watch a person and how they treat their dogs and you will see someone who loves their families as well." During a short break in the training I could not help but see how each person there took special care with their dogs. I believe Mom was right.
I took off from training when hunting season started last September. Yesterday was my first time back for training since then. It was a common goal of all of ours to train our dogs and help each other as needed. I have to say that the group who was present yesterday are genuinely nice people and I look forward to a some more training with them. I told some of them that I would write about them today!
My point for the day is this. Mothers teach their kids many things. I can't remember half of what Mom taught me. Do your best to take the good things Mom taught and write them down. Two things I recall are the lesson about dogs and how to make bread rolls.
Oh, I plan on going outside today. I will lace up my boots. Guess who taught me how to tie my shoes?
Have a great day and live the way your mother taught you.
Marty
