Sunday Morning and it is supposed to be hot and humid today in Wisconsin. I am starting today with a large cup of Door County Cherry Creme Coffee.
Last night after our Saturday evening church service we held an extended time for a prayer meeting. There is never a time limit set for the prayer time and I have witnessed them lasting until dawn the next day. But last night finished after about two and one half hours. Many circumstance received prayer, intercession for others took place and it was a least to say a "sweet time" with other believers and God.
Today I am choosing to ask you to answer a few questions about your prayer life. No need to email or comment just grade yourself.
1. In a crisis do you pray first or pick up a phone and call someone?
2. If you do call someone do you ask for prayer?
3. Would you say that your daily prayer time is adequate?
4. Do you believe that God hears your prayers?
5. Is your prayer life more of a personal shopping list or do you intercede on the behalf of others?
6. Now how would God answer these questions about you?
Here are some helpful verses on prayer.
1 Chronicles 16:11Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Psalm 4:1Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
Psalm 145:18The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Proverbs 15:29The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
Have a wonderful Sunday. Be sure to get to church.
Love you,
Marty
