Good Morning,
I am taking in the morning with gusto. I enjoyed a cup of Door County Blueberry Cobbler Coffee and some cookies for breakfast. Not the best breakfast but very adequate.

November will be upon us tomorrow and it just seems like yesterday it was October 1st. We have purchased our turkey for Thanksgiving but due to covid the day will be celebrated by just the two of us and our dogs. My wife Rene asked that we try to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I was leaning toward lasagna myself. But I think she is looking for anything to be normal on that day, since we won't be celebrating with family and friends this year. So a bacon wrapped turkey smothered in maple syrup will be roasting that Thursday
I guess it is the least I can do for her. I have been watching her and she is worried about catching the pestilence or spreading it to others. She is Type 1 Diabetic and has seen first hand the impact of the virus on me. But enough of the virus talk. This is a time (MEN) when we can lead or spend time on the internet harping on masks, no masks, vaccine, no vaccine, no social distancing or social distancing. It is a waste of time to do so.
It should be our goal during these times of uncertainty to lead with more prayer as a family. Take on preparing the meal yourself or with the kids. Celebrate with others safely if you choose that route but step up and make the day about those around you, not just about feeding your faces and then running off at the mouth on social media.
Just be more of a part of the day than just an attendee at the table. Write each person a card and tell them how grateful you are to be a part of their lives. Surprise them. If you have teenage kids text them a special note. They will have their phones handy.
Think about it.
This year has been tough on the family. Give them something to talk about, seeing you preparing the meal or baking a pie.
