Look At Truth 3/17/2023

 Good Morning,

Friday rolled in as expected and I am filled with gusto to embrace this day. I just poured a hot cup of Door County Irish Cream Coffee and it is time to write.

There is nothing like a warm fire in the hearth to soothe the body, mind, and heart on a damp day. The truth is, for me, as I get older, the morning coffee tastes better and the warm fire feels better than it did in my younger days. I enjoy a slower morning when I am not in a rush to get to a work assignment.

Today I am taking a little time to talk about the Truth.

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Right from the start man has assumed a lie. In the garden of Eden it was assumed that sin would free us (defying God) and is a way to control our own lives. That thought is so far from the truth that it isn't funny. Sin and defiance of God captures us and enslaves us to corrupt thinking, corrupt actions and lack of peace. It often promotes loneliness and shame and actually causes a separation between us and God.

Isaiah 59:12 Behold the Lord's hand is not shortened that it cannot save, or His ear dull that it cannot hear. But you iniquities have made a separation between you and God. Your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

Colorful words filled with lies are never a true comfort. While operating under a lie and refusing to not hear what is really good for us we are doomed to more lies, more confusion and misdirection.

John 14:6 Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me.

Jesus alone is the one and only Way to the true truth. True freedom is found in forgiveness of our sins. We desire to be truthful, and serve God when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

That was a mouth full of truth for this Friday morning.

God Bless,

Marty
