April Fools 4/1/2022

 Good Morning,

Wow, where did this week go? I am done with jury duty now and can say for sure that it was more of an inconvenience than anything. I don't really feel that anything at all was accomplished. But I served my duty, and will wait for the next four years to go by until I might get called on again.

I just poured a hot cup of door County Raspberry Almond Coffee and now it is time to write. April 1st is known as April fools day.

April 1st or better known as "April Fools Day" is an annual custom consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters often expose their actions by shouting "April Fools" at the recipient of the joke or hoax. Mass media can be involved in these pranks which may be revealed the next day. Some historians speculate that the origin of the annual holiday might go back as far as 1582. I did some research on the subject which I won't boar you with. You can look the information up for yourselves.

However I did some Biblical research as to what it means to be Biblically referred to as a fool. Depending on which version of the Bible is referenced, the word fool can be found in both the New Testament and the Old Testament roughly 110 times. Used that many times in the Bible, tells me that God has something to say about the foolish. The Hebrew word for fool is "nabal" and means senseless so the fool basically according to God has no sense and why "The fool says in His heart, 'There is no God" Psalm 14:1. He or she is a fool if they claim there is no God.

So for someone to say there is no God is a fools statement because they have never been everywhere in the universe and therefore cannot say that there is no God. Also Psalm 19 proves that there must be a God because "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge." Psalm 19:1-2

If you have been out on a star filled night, you must conclude that this universe and all its vastness did not create itself. The order and symmetry of the heavenly bodies are like a well tuned orchestra that works to perfection (Isaiah 45:18) because God is a God of order and not  chaos and confusion.           (1 Corinthians 14:33)

I have played part in a April 1st joke now and then. I have fallen victim to some pretty good pranks directed at me through the years. All in good fun. But the true meaning of a fool is not flattering.

Have a fun and safe day.

God bless.

Marty
