Stand Still And Wait 11/14/2017

Good Morning,

I can hear a train coming down the tracks near our home and it's horn clearing the railroad crossing. The kitchen is filled with the aroma of my Door County Frosting On The Cake Coffee. This is a good time to write.

Exodus 14:13New International Version (NIV)
13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.

These words are the command from God, for all believers when they are faced with dire straights and huge difficulties. There is no retreat or a wide run to the left or to the right. Our God and Lord gives a direct command and it would be well for us to obey. We are on the edge of the diving board of life and God wants us to stand still so we don't fall.

At the same time there is another voice named "despair" that says "run, retreat, go back to your old worldly ways. You aren't going to cut it as a believer in God. You will never be a good Christian. So why even try?"

This would be the way of a coward and does not align with what God had in mind when we place our trust in Him. We need to walk by faith not by sight. What we see might cause us to fear immensely. When we walk by faith and place our trust in God, we see Him walking with us and before us.

Deuteronomy 31:8New International Version (NIV)
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Satan uses the lies of fear and despair to try and convince us that the worldly life is better than facing trials with God. Can you imagine facing trials without Him?

Some of you have just faced a huge trial or are going through times of despair right now. God is with you, won't leave you, and will lead the way. Hang on and let Him help you stare down trials and despair. He does His greatest work when we wait on Him. Trust in Him to carry us through and then He shall bring it to pass.

God bless,

Marty
