Hibernating Through Life 11/13/2017

Good Morning,

The mug sitting next to me is filled with Door County Maple Coffee and that seems to be just what I wanted and needed.

We have quite a few black bears here in Wisconsin and as most all bears do, our black bears eat all spring, summer and fall. They put on weight and then when winter comes they go into a den or hole and hibernate though winter. During hibernation the bear's body temperature will drop and they reside in a dormant state,

Many people would love to have the life of a bear and hibernate through life. They desire to hole up and avoid others. They figure that if they let their life go dormant, they won't have to face problems. But like the bear who made his home next to the skunk, although he slept through winter the skunk was there in the spring to harass our bear friend. His life went dormant , but he still had to face his issue.

Now if by chance the skunk moves on during the bear's hibernation, he won't know it until the spring season. When we hibernate and do not face our problems, we might miss out on seeing What God has done for us.

Psalm 23:1-6 (KJV)  “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

Let's make sure that we all are spending enough time working on our relationship with God. We don't want to hibernate and miss what He is doing.
