Recovering After Being Emotionally Hurt 9/6/2019

Good Morning,

Happy Friday to all and to all a a great weekend. I just got serious about getting this day going and I poured a big cup of Door County Inn Keepers Blend  Coffee. Now it is time to write.

I think everyone goes through a season or more of times when they are emotionally hurt by other people. The greatest hurts usually come when they are delivered by those we love. A spouse who cheats on you or is unreasonable to live with. Not many divorces are ever that peaceful. A child that just decides that drugs or alcohol should rule their lives.  Families that exchange harsh words during a time of loss or grieving sometimes never recover from the words that hurt so deeply. This list of hurtful possibilities could go on for several pages.

So I pondered the answer and asked God what advice He has for us. It didn't take me too long to find the answer. It is my goal today to leave you with something you can use if needed. I found the answer within Psalm 37 and have decided to add comments next to the passages.

Psalm 37:1-8

1. Do not fret because of those who do evil or be envious of those who do wrong. We can worry about what those who hurt us are doing to us. We are not to worry.

2. For like the grass they will wither soon, like green plants they will soon die away. They won't be in hurting you forever and they will run out of fodder and will fade away.

3. Trust in the Lord and do good. Continue to do good despite  the circumstances . Trust God to prevail. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pastures. Spend more time with God and live spiritually within Him.

4,Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Once we spend more time with God and we delight in Him, He becomes the desire of our heart. The more of Him we want the more we receive,

5 Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him and He will do this. If we want to lose the hurt feelings we need to commit to something better and that is God.

6. He will make your righteous reward shine like the new dawn. People will see the difference in you and wonder just how you are making it. You will be a walking miracle.

7. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. We need to be patient. It is in the seasons of despair that we often learn more about ourselves.  Do not fret when wicked people succeed in their ways. We acn grow very tired when we decide to play God and decide to take revenge ourselves.

8. Refrain from anger and forsake wrath it only causes harm. You can make things worse by acting just like the people who hurt you. You lower yourself to their standards.

Friends I hope this helps and you can move on from the hurt you were given. It's is sound advice because it came from God and not from man. I would recommend  for you to read Psalm 37 through to the end. Let God speak to you and revel in His peace.

God bless,
Marty
